» There are 6 competitive levels of trampolining. Levels 1 - 6 with level 1 being the highest of these competitive grades.
The competitions are split into age groups, Under 9 (U9), Under 11 (U11), Under 13 (U13), Under 15 (U15), Under 18 (U18), Over 18 (O18 ) and in level 1 competitions, mens and ladies. each of these age groups is then split into boys and girls.
To qualify for the next grade, you must obtain a certain score at your current grade in a competition. The 2006 qualifying scores can be found by clicking here.
» When you arrive at the competition, your team manager will check your club in, hand in tariff sheets (see judges page for details.), and collect warm up tickets, and hand them out. Your age group will be told which panel to use. each panel consists of at least 2 trampolines. You have the choice of which to use. Your group will be given a certain time to warm up their set routine, during this time you may practice your set routine twice (but sometimes more).
» The first 5 competitors will then be asked to do their controlled warm up (final practice of your set). Next, competitor number 1 competes their set, followed by competitor number 6's controlled warm up, and so on until everyone has competed.
» Your group will then have time to warm up their voluntary (vol) routine twice, followed by their vol competition which takes place in reverse order.
» Grades 3, 2 and 1 then have a final, where the top 10 scoring competitors compete a vol routine once more. This score is added to the previous 2 rounds to determine the final places.
» Team competitions are held at the same time. You can enter a team if you have 3 or 4 people competing in the same group, from the same club. The total scores are the best 3 set marks and the best 3 vol marks are added together.
»Presentations are sometimes held at the end of each group, sometimes after the morning and afternoon groups and sometimes at the end of the day. To collect trophies, you must be in club dress (tracksuit) or competition attire (leotard (and whites). Certificates are usually awarded for all placings, but are sent to your club at a later date.
